Events are Exciting.
They’re full of conversations, new ideas, inspiring speakers and opportunities to connect with people who understand your journey.
But for many neurodivergent people, they can also be overwhelming.
The noise. The crowds. The constant conversations. The bright lights. Even when you’re enjoying yourself, sometimes you simply need a moment to step away, gather your thoughts and recharge.
And that’s okay.
At the National Neurodiversity Shows, we believe accessibility isn’t just about getting through the door—it’s about making sure everyone can enjoy the day in the way that works best for them.
That’s why every National Neurodiversity Show includes a dedicated Quiet Room.
It’s a space where you can take a break from the exhibition, pause for a while, regulate, reset and return to the show when you’re ready. No expectations. No pressure. Just a calm environment for anyone who needs it.
We’re incredibly grateful that Dogs for Good are sponsoring the Quiet Room at this year’s Scotland show.
Dogs for Good is a charity that helps people build life-changing relationships with dogs. Through their specialist support and Family Dog Service, they help individuals and families discover how dogs can improve confidence, communication, independence and wellbeing.
It’s a partnership that feels like a perfect fit.
Both Dogs for Good and the National Neurodiversity Shows share the same belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive in environments where they feel understood, supported and accepted.
Whether you spend five minutes in the Quiet Room or half an hour, we hope it gives you the opportunity to breathe, recharge and make the most of everything the show has to offer.
So, if you find yourself needing a little time away from the hustle and bustle on Friday 11th September at Hampden Park, please remember that the Quiet Room is there for you.
And while you’re there, why not take a moment to learn more about Dogs for Good? Their team will be exhibiting at the show and would love to chat about the incredible difference dogs can make to people’s lives. You can also scan their QR code in the Quiet Room to find out more about their work and the support they provide.
Sometimes, all we need is a quiet moment before we’re ready to continue the conversation.
We’ll see you in Scotland. 💙
